FAQs

what is a doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to families during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. My role as your postpartum doula is to help ease your transition into parenthood with compassionate, hands-on care tailored to your specific needs.

Can a doula give medical guidance?

No. Unlike medical professionals, doulas focus on non-medical care, offering guidance, comfort, and assistance tailored to each families need.

WHEN SHOULD I reach out about postpartum support?

As soon as you get curious about what this could look like! Maybe you’re still pregnant or perhaps your little one has arrived - I prefer the earlier the better, but either way, contact me so we can set up some time to meet and discuss what kind of support you envision needing. I will also take this time to share with you what to expect from me as your postpartum doula and address any questions you may have. During this initial call, we can determine if we’re a good match for each other.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A DOULA?

I believe our culture falls profoundly short in the support and genuine care offered to the givers of life, to the birthing process, and to new families. The range of emotions I felt upon realizing this was the catalyst for my commitment to honoring and supporting families during this miraculous time. Make no mistake—you are a miracle, this journey is a miracle, and its magnitude deserves the support of the world. Until we achieve that, I will be here to support you through this time.

why hire a POSTPARTUM doula?

Being pregnant and having a child is intense work! A doula provides personalized support during one of life’s most transformative experiences. However, the work does not stop once the baby arrives. As your postpartum doula, I will help you feel more confident, supported, and prepared on this new journey. This time is not only about the birth of a child, but the rebirth of the parent.

THIS IS NOT MY FIRST CHILD, DO I NEED A POSTPARTUM DOULA?

While there will be familiar moments, every labor, child, and postpartum journey is unique. A doula can still provide support during this time.

DO you take insurance?

No, not at the moment.

What can I expect during a perinatal meeting?

Whether we meet during your pregnancy or after your baby arrives, a perinatal meeting is an opportunity to connect and ensure I understand your needs. We’ll discuss your birth plan preferences or your birthing experience, depending on your stage.

We’ll also explore any specific concerns or questions you have and review relevant health history to ensure I can provide personalized, thoughtful support for you.

Do you provide overnight doula support?

Not at the moment. If that changes, I will update the site to reflect this new service.
